How it all Started;
Skullmonkey originated in Minneapolis, Minnesota in March of 1998, Skullmonkey toured as a cover band tearing up the Nightclub scene in Minnesota and the five state areas.

The Big Change;
After two years of playing cover songs Skullmonkey was ready to can the cover scene. This was not a hard choice to make since all the clubs are still paying the same as they have for about 20 years now without much increase to speak of. Nonetheless the main reason for the change was simply for the joy of playing there our own music.

But At The Same Time;
Franz Poscher & Larry Lees had been working together for about 8 months on an original Industrial Metal project under the name of "Cue" and three of their songs were chosen to be on the EMW Records Minneapolis Own Compilation CD entitled "The Collage". ON August 20, 2000 Larry decided it was time to go all original. Just the moment Franz was waiting for, and so the two entities merged to become the new, all original Skullmonkey.

The Product:
In addition to an EXPLOSIVE STAGE SHOW, Skullmonkey is dedicated to writing music that sounds like today, not yesterday. With a mixture of metal riffs, screaming & rapping vocals, effects loops, and extremely danceable rhythms, they can be categorized as an Industrial Metal Band with a modern edge.
